Personal representative

An individual or entity appointed by a court to manage the estate of a deceased person. This role involves collecting assets, paying debts and taxes, and distributing the remaining property to heirs or beneficiaries according to the will or intestacy laws. The personal representative is often referred to as an executor if named in a will, or an administrator if there is no will.
