Special administrator

An individual appointed by a court to manage the estate of a deceased person for a limited period, usually when there is a delay in appointing a permanent executor or administrator. This temporary role involves preserving assets, collecting debts, and paying immediate expenses, but does not extend to distributing the estate to beneficiaries. The appointment is made to prevent loss or damage to the estate during the interim period before full probate is granted.
