Rehearing

A second hearing of a case by the same court or tribunal that originally rendered the decision. A party may petition for a rehearing to argue that the court overlooked or misapprehended a point of law or fact. A request for rehearing en banc asks all the judges of an appellate court, rather than the initial panel of three, to hear the case.
