Secondary liability

Legal responsibility imposed on a party for the wrongful acts of another, even if the party did not directly commit the primary offense. This liability arises from a relationship between the parties or from the secondary party's involvement in facilitating the primary wrong. Examples include vicarious liability, where an employer is responsible for an employee's actions, or contributory infringement in intellectual property law.
