Indirect infringement

A type of intellectual property infringement where a party does not directly commit the infringing act, but rather induces or contributes to another's direct infringement. This can take the form of contributory infringement or inducement of infringement. Proving indirect infringement often requires demonstrating knowledge and intent on the part of the indirect infringer.
