Inducement of infringement

A form of indirect intellectual property infringement where one party actively encourages or persuades another to directly infringe a patent, copyright, or trademark. To prove inducement, the plaintiff must show that the inducer had knowledge of the patent and intended to cause the direct infringement. This type of liability is distinct from contributory infringement, which focuses on providing infringing components.
