Self-authenticating documents

Documents that are presumed to be authentic without the need for extrinsic evidence of authenticity, as specified by rules of evidence. These documents carry an inherent indicia of reliability, such as certified copies of public records, official publications, or acknowledged documents. Federal Rule of Evidence 902 lists several categories of self-authenticating documents.
