Springing durable power of attorney
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-004650
A legal document that grants an agent the authority to act on behalf of the principal, but only upon the occurrence of a specific event or condition. This condition, often the principal's incapacitation, must be clearly defined in the document. Unlike an immediate durable power of attorney, its authority does not become effective until the trigger event.
