Subcontractor

An individual or company that performs a specific part of the work for a larger project, having been hired by a general contractor or prime contractor. The subcontractor typically specializes in a particular trade or service, such as plumbing, electrical work, or landscaping. Their contractual relationship is with the general contractor, not directly with the project owner.
