Servant

An individual who performs services for another under an express or implied agreement, subject to the control and direction of the employer regarding the manner in which the work is performed. In legal terms, particularly in tort law, the employer may be held vicariously liable for the servant's actions within the scope of employment. This relationship is distinct from that of an independent contractor.
