The overall look and feel of a product or its packaging, including features such as size, shape, color combinations, texture, and graphics, that identifies the source of the goods to consumers. It is protected under Section 43(a) of the Lanham Act if it is nonfunctional and distinctive. Product design must have acquired secondary meaning, while packaging and restaurant decor can be inherently distinctive.
