Unreasonable search and seizure

Governmental intrusion into an individual's privacy or property without proper justification, violating the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Evidence obtained through such a search or seizure is generally inadmissible in court under the exclusionary rule. This protection requires law enforcement to obtain warrants or have probable cause for searches.
