Tainted evidence

Evidence that has been obtained illegally or improperly, or that has been compromised in a way that affects its reliability or admissibility in court. This can occur through violations of constitutional rights, such as an unlawful search and seizure, or through mishandling that breaks the chain of custody. Such evidence is often subject to exclusion under rules like the exclusionary rule.
