USERRA (The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act)

A federal law that protects the employment and reemployment rights of individuals who serve or have served in the uniformed services. It prohibits discrimination based on military service and provides for prompt reemployment in the civilian job the service member would have attained had they not been absent for military service. The Department of Labor's Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) investigates complaints under USERRA.
