Accumulation mode
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003219
A size range of atmospheric aerosol particles, typically between 0.1 and 1.0 micrometers in diameter, formed primarily through coagulation of smaller particles and condensation of gases. These particles have long atmospheric lifetimes and are efficient at scattering visible light, contributing to haze and reduced visibility. They are also readily removed by precipitation scavenging.
