Acid fog
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003230
Fog that has become highly acidic due to the dissolution of atmospheric pollutants, primarily sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, into its water droplets. The high concentration of pollutants in fog can lead to a pH significantly lower than that of acid rain, sometimes reaching values below 3. Acid fog can cause damage to vegetation and structures.
