Air hoar
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003378
A type of hoar frost that forms on objects suspended in the air, such as spider webs or fine wires, rather than directly on the ground. It develops when supercooled water vapor in the air directly deposits as ice crystals onto surfaces that are below freezing. This delicate ice formation is distinct from rime ice.
