Alpine tundra

A biome found at high altitudes above the treeline, characterized by cold temperatures, strong winds, and a short growing season. The vegetation consists primarily of low-growing shrubs, grasses, sedges, and wildflowers, adapted to harsh conditions. This ecosystem is distinct from arctic tundra, which occurs at high latitudes.
