Tundra
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009832
A biome characterized by permafrost, low-growing vegetation, and a short growing season, found in the Arctic and at high altitudes. The cold temperatures and frozen ground prevent the growth of tall trees, leading to landscapes dominated by mosses, lichens, sedges, and dwarf shrubs.
