Arctic high

A large, intense high-pressure system that forms over the Arctic regions, characterized by extremely cold, dense air. These highs are often semi-permanent features during the winter months, contributing to the formation of arctic air masses. They can extend southward, bringing severe cold outbreaks to mid-latitude continents.
