Baroswitch
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003825
A pressure-activated electrical switch that responds to changes in atmospheric pressure. It consists of an aneroid capsule that expands or contracts with pressure fluctuations, mechanically triggering electrical contacts at predetermined pressure thresholds. Baroswitches are often used in radiosondes to activate different circuits or transmit data at specific altitudes during ascent.
