Barotropic pressure function

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003834

A mathematical function describing atmospheric pressure in a barotropic fluid, where pressure is solely a function of density. In such a system, surfaces of constant pressure coincide with surfaces of constant density. This simplification is often used in idealized atmospheric models to study large-scale flow patterns without considering thermal effects.
