Beltrami flow
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003881
A type of fluid flow where the velocity vector is everywhere parallel to its own vorticity vector. This means that the streamlines and vortex lines are aligned, indicating a helical motion of the fluid. In atmospheric science, Beltrami flows are sometimes used as idealized models for certain types of atmospheric vortices or helical structures in fluid dynamics.
