Carbon disulfide

A colorless, volatile liquid with a distinctive odor, composed of one carbon atom and two sulfur atoms. It is released into the atmosphere from both natural sources, such as volcanic activity, and anthropogenic sources, including industrial processes. Carbon disulfide contributes to the atmospheric sulfur cycle and can be oxidized to form sulfur dioxide.
