Cold-front wave

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004512

A wave-like disturbance that develops along a cold front, characterized by a bulge in the frontal boundary and associated with cyclonic circulation. This feature can lead to the intensification of precipitation and wind along the front. Such waves are a common mechanism for the development of secondary low-pressure systems.
