Consequent

A type of stream or river whose course is directly determined by the initial slope of the land surface. These rivers flow in the direction of the steepest gradient of the original topography. They are often found in newly uplifted areas or on volcanic cones, where the drainage pattern directly reflects the underlying geological structure.
