Conserved variable diagram
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004612
A thermodynamic diagram that plots two or more conservative atmospheric variables against each other, such as equivalent potential temperature and total water mixing ratio. These diagrams are used to analyze air mass properties, identify different air masses, and diagnose atmospheric processes like mixing and cloud formation. They provide insights into the evolution of atmospheric states.
