Adiabatic chart
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003295
A thermodynamic diagram used to plot atmospheric soundings and analyze the vertical structure of the atmosphere. It features lines representing constant temperature, pressure, dry adiabats, moist adiabats, and mixing ratio. Meteorologists use these charts, such as skew-T log-P diagrams, to assess atmospheric stability, cloud formation potential, and severe weather risks.
