Pseudoadiabat
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008190
A line on a thermodynamic diagram, such as a skew-T log-P chart, representing the temperature change of a parcel of saturated air undergoing a pseudoadiabatic process. Along this line, latent heat released during condensation is assumed to immediately fall out as precipitation, so it does not contribute to the parcel's heat content. Pseudoadiabats have a steeper slope than moist adiabats because they account for the removal of condensed water.
