Cyclo-geostrophic current

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004824

A wind or ocean current that represents a balance between the Coriolis force, the pressure gradient force, and the centrifugal force. This balance is an extension of the geostrophic balance, incorporating the curvature of the flow. It is particularly relevant in regions with strong curvature, such as around intense low-pressure systems or oceanic eddies.
