Dispersivity

A property of a porous medium or fluid flow that quantifies the degree of spreading or mixing of a tracer or contaminant beyond that caused by molecular diffusion. In atmospheric science, it relates to the turbulent mixing of pollutants. It is typically expressed as a length scale.
