Equatorial tide
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005424
A periodic variation in sea level or atmospheric pressure caused by the gravitational forces of the Moon and Sun, specifically those components that are strongest near the equator. These tidal forces are influenced by the declination of the Moon and Sun relative to the Earth's equator. The semidiurnal and diurnal components are dominant.
