Extensible balloon

A type of meteorological balloon designed to expand significantly as it ascends through the atmosphere, allowing it to reach higher altitudes before bursting. These balloons are typically made of latex or synthetic rubber and carry radiosondes to transmit atmospheric data. Their expansion is due to the decreasing ambient pressure with altitude.
