Foam crust

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005667

A layer of solidified or semi-solid foam that forms on the surface of a liquid, often observed on water bodies or snowpacks. In cryospheric contexts, it can refer to a fragile, porous layer of ice formed from frozen foam on a snow surface. This crust can influence snowpack properties and surface albedo.
