Frontal model

A conceptual or numerical representation of the structure and evolution of atmospheric fronts. These models describe the dynamics of air mass interactions, including the formation of clouds, precipitation, and wind shifts along the frontal boundary. Early frontal models were developed by the Norwegian School of Meteorology in the early 20th century.
