Glacial trough

A U-shaped valley carved by the erosive action of a glacier, typically characterized by steep, straight sides and a broad, flat floor. These distinctive landforms are created as glaciers scour and widen pre-existing river valleys. Fjords are examples of glacial troughs that have been inundated by the sea.
