Glacier ice

Dense, recrystallized ice that forms from compacted snow over many years, characterized by its blue appearance due to the absorption of red light and scattering of blue light. It has a higher density than regular snow or firn, typically ranging from 850 to 917 kilograms per cubic meter. This ice is the primary constituent of glaciers and ice sheets.
