Ground wave
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006097
An electromagnetic wave that travels along the surface of the Earth, following its curvature. This type of wave propagation is particularly relevant for radio communication at lower frequencies, as it allows signals to travel beyond the line of sight. Ground waves are affected by the electrical properties of the ground and can be attenuated by obstacles.
