Scatter propagation

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008686

The transmission of radio waves beyond the line of sight by means of scattering from irregularities in the troposphere or ionosphere. This phenomenon allows for communication over distances greater than direct line-of-sight paths. Tropospheric scatter propagation typically uses frequencies in the UHF and microwave bands.
