Hydraulic analogy
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006306
A conceptual model that compares the flow of fluids in a hydraulic system to the behavior of atmospheric processes. This comparison allows for a simplified understanding of complex atmospheric dynamics, such as wave propagation or energy transfer. For instance, the movement of water in a channel can illustrate aspects of air flow over terrain.
