Couette flow
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004732
The laminar flow of a viscous fluid between two parallel plates, where one plate is stationary and the other moves at a constant velocity. In atmospheric science, this idealized flow can be used to model certain aspects of boundary layer dynamics, such as the shear stress and velocity profiles near the Earth's surface. It provides a simplified framework for understanding momentum transfer in fluid layers.
