Hydrochlorofluorocarbons
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006311
Synthetic organic compounds containing hydrogen, chlorine, fluorine, and carbon, developed as replacements for chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). While less damaging to the stratospheric ozone layer than CFCs due to their shorter atmospheric lifetimes, they are still potent greenhouse gases. Their production and consumption are regulated under the Montreal Protocol.
