Hygroscopic moisture
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006375
Water vapor absorbed from the atmosphere by a substance, such as soil, when the air is not saturated. This moisture is held tightly by molecular forces on the surface of soil particles and is generally unavailable for plant uptake.
