Indian National Satellite System

A series of multi-purpose geostationary satellites operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for meteorology, telecommunications, broadcasting, and search and rescue operations. These satellites provide continuous weather monitoring over the Indian subcontinent and surrounding regions. The INSAT system has been operational since 1983, with multiple generations of satellites launched.
