Multifunctional Transport Satellite

A series of geostationary meteorological satellites operated by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) that provided both weather observation and air traffic control communication services. These satellites captured visible and infrared images of the Earth's disk, contributing to weather forecasting and disaster monitoring across East Asia and the Western Pacific. The MTSAT series was succeeded by the Himawari satellites.
