Visible Infrared Spin Scan Radiometer

A type of radiometer historically used on geostationary meteorological satellites to capture images of Earth's atmosphere and surface. It scanned the Earth line by line as the satellite spun, collecting data in both visible and infrared wavelengths. This instrument provided continuous monitoring of weather patterns from space.
