Individual derivative

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006505

The rate of change of a property of a fluid parcel as it moves through space and time. It accounts for both local changes at a fixed point and advective changes due to the parcel's motion. This derivative is often used in fluid dynamics equations to describe the evolution of atmospheric variables.
