Isallobaric

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010561

Relating to lines of equal pressure tendency, which depict areas of equal atmospheric pressure change over a specified time interval. These lines indicate regions where pressure is rising or falling most rapidly, providing insight into the movement and intensification of weather systems. Strong isallobaric gradients often precede significant weather changes, such as the approach of a front.
