Isentropic chart

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006674

A weather map that displays meteorological variables, such as pressure, wind speed, and moisture, on a surface of constant potential temperature. These charts are particularly useful for tracking air parcel trajectories and identifying regions of atmospheric ascent or descent, as air parcels tend to move along these surfaces. They provide insights into atmospheric stability and moisture transport.
