Isocline
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006693
A line on a map or chart connecting points where a specific physical quantity has an equal slope or gradient. In meteorology, this can refer to lines of equal slope of a pressure surface relative to a geopotential surface, which is related to the geostrophic wind shear. The term is also used in other fields, such as geology and magnetism, to denote lines of equal inclination.
